Youth need a safe and nurturing place to belong … a place to ask questions about life … a place where they are accepted unconditionally … and a place to discover God’s immense love for them.
Our Youth Ministry exists to:
Follow Jesus, engage in Outreach, Celebrate and Unite in God’s presence, and Serve others
Follow – Discipleship Outreach – Evangelize Celebrate – Worship Unite – Fellowship Serve – Ministry
Our Biblical Theology for youth: “We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well because you had become so dear to us.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:8)
Our Ministry is with:
What Can You Expect? Some evenings we will meet at St. James to play games, share a meal, enjoy friendships, make new friends, talk about our faith, pray, and discuss scripture and its relevance to real life. Other times, we will walk in the footsteps of Jesus by engaging in service, or spiritual, or social events offsite.
What is Expected of Youth? Bring an open mind and heart … bring your friends … be open to discovering your great value as a child of God … be willing to grow in your relationship with Jesus and others … be willing to accept caring adults who want to be your companion on life’s journey.
What is Expected of Parents? Allow us to partner with you in raising your children in matters of faith … be faithful to participating at Mass and family prayer … say “yes” when we ask for your help on occasion …
Sacrament of Confirmation: God the Holy Spirit, first received in Baptism, is more fully given in Confirmation. And so, preparation for Confirmation has been ongoing since our entry into Christ and His Church. Confirmation is celebrated at the end of 9th grade, after a period of specific formation.
